Of Note is a collection of things I read, watched, ate, visited or experienced from month to month.
November was a very hectic month, with a lot of firsts for me in terms of my job and with the holidays, a lot of personal events. This ‘Of Note’ is shorter than I’d like, but I’m dedicated to doing these once a month so here goes!

Hot Buttered Rum 2 Ways AND Fat Washing! from How to Drink
How to Drink is one of my favorite channels on YouTube. From classic cocktails to interpretations of drinks in popular media, Greg is insightful, fun to watch, and thoughtful. I’ve learned a lot on How to Drink about the history of cocktails and spirits, and this particular episode demystified fat-washing spirits for me.

Worthwhile Bites & Sips
Virginia Distillery Co. in Lovingston, VA
Full disclosure: this one is one of my clients over at Vigor. Our principal, Marketing Director and myself went onsite a few days to learn about them and how to better market a new product of theirs, and in the process, we got a distillery tour and a taste of all their offerings. Regardless of them being a client, it’s definitely good whiskey.
Food Terminal on the Westside - Atlanta, GA
I’m not usually a fan of restaurants that have magazine-length menus, but I’ll make an exception here. Food Terminal, to quote their website, “features a high variety of Asian street foods with heavy emphasis on Malaysian cuisine.” It’s yummy, you should go eat some.
Miscellaneous Finds
Gibbs Garden in Ball Ground, GA
A beautiful garden in north Georgia, my husband and I make it a point to visit every November to visit their Japanese garden and view their Japanese maples in their dazzling fall colors.
Luigi’s Mansion by Nintendo
I LOVED the original Luigi’s Mansion on the Nintendo 64 when I was younger, so on Halloween I purchased the most recent version of it that came out for the Nintendo Switch. I just beat the game and while some of the mechanics were a bit lackluster, it was still an overall enjoyable experience.
